I was born in 1962, raised and educated in Glasgow.
I have lived and worked in Scotland, New Zealand, England and now live in Auchterarder, Perthshire with my wife, Lesley. We have three adult children: Eleanor, Cameron and Innes.
I love the outdoor life – hillwalking, sailing, cycling, camping and a little bit of golf. I also love music and keep trying to improve my guitar playing.
I have worked in the insurance and financial services industry for over 30 years within both large and small organisations. This has included roles ranging from a graduate trainee, broker consultant, area manager, client manager and for the past six years as an independent financial adviser.
I have a BA (Hons) in Business & Administration from Strathclyde University, am an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a fully qualified financial planner with a Diploma in Personal Financial Planning. I am committed to continuing my professional development on an ongoing basis.
I have a broad range of clients with varying circumstances and requirements. Most of these have been introduced to me by family, friends or other trusted professionals, such as accountants or solicitors, with whom I work closely.
